Hey everyone, I'm hoping you can help me figure out if I'm going about this all wrong. I'm a few months into running my Shopify store and trying to get our costs optimized.
I've been trying to negotiate a better price on our email marketing platform. Our current plan is about $80/month, and I got a public offer from a competitor for a similar feature set at $55/month. I brought this quote to our current provider's support team, asking if they could match or come closer, and they just said no. They basically said the price is the price and pointed me to their public pricing page.
I thought having a competitor's offer was the key to getting a discount! Is that not how it works anymore? Do companies just not care unless you're a huge account?
Has anyone had success getting a discount in a situation like this? Maybe I'm asking the wrong person or need to phrase it differently? I'd love to hear what actually works.
