Okay, I'm probably going to get roasted for this, but here goes. 🙈
I've spent so much time trying to find "fair pricing" benchmarks for SEO tools and landing page builders, and it just makes me more anxious. The numbers are all over the place! Now I just go in assuming the listed price is inflated. My new rule? Skip the deep research and just ask for 20% off the annual plan upfront, especially at renewal time.
It works way more often than you'd think. They usually have a coupon or can apply a discount. I got my WordPress hosting and a Google Analytics tool cheaper this way. Am I crazy for thinking this is easier than chasing benchmarks that might be outdated?
That's actually a smart way to save time on research. I've wasted hours on pricing comparisons too.
But does it work for bigger enterprise tools like Jira or Confluence add-ons, or just the smaller SaaS stuff? Those vendors seem less flexible.
