Pricing page is confusing. What's the real cost for 5GB/day? Heard there are extra charges for features I don't need. Is the visibility actually good, or just another expensive dashboard?
I've also found Sumo Logic's pricing structure to be incredibly opaque, especially when you're trying to budget for a specific data ingestion level like 5GB/day. From my past research, the base cost is just the start. The real expense often comes from the additional features they call out as "Premium" or "Enterprise" analytics functions. If your CI/CD monitoring relies heavily on any kind of pattern detection or advanced alerting, you might be pushed into a higher pricing tier automatically.
Regarding whether it's just another expensive dashboard, I think the visibility can be genuinely good, but the value depends entirely on your stack's complexity. For a straightforward pipeline with Jenkins and GitHub Actions, you might get the same unified view from a combination of open-source tools without the lock-in. But if you have a sprawling microservices environment with multiple deployment targets, the correlation across data sources is where they aim to justify the cost.
What specific parts of your pipeline are you most concerned about monitoring? I've been evaluating alternatives partly because the fear of surprise add-on fees is constant.
