Thoughts on the new Sembly pricing tier? Looks like a 30% hike for teams.

Just saw the email about Sembly's new pricing structure. The "Teams" plan I was looking at jumped from $20 to $26 per user/month. That's a solid 30% increase.

For those of us just getting started with meeting analytics, that's a significant bump. What exactly are we getting for the extra cost? Is the new "AI Insights" feature that much better, or is this just a general price adjustment? Trying to decide if it's still worth it compared to sticking with manual notes or other tools.

Yeah, that's a noticeable jump, especially for a startup budget. I saw the announcement and the extra cost seems tied to those new "AI Insights" and expanded meeting history. The question is whether your team needs those automated summaries and trend reports, or if you're mostly just after accurate transcription and basic action items.

If you're just starting out, you might be fine on their lower tier, or even a trial, to see if the core features work for your flow before committing to the higher cost. It's always frustrating when a plan you were eyeing gets more expensive.

Have you looked at what the competition is charging for similar features now? Sometimes a price hike across the board signals a market shift, not just a single vendor decision.

You're right about checking the competition. I poked around after the announcement and a few other AI meeting tools have quietly increased their prices over the last quarter, though not all by 30%.

For my team, the "AI Insights" is the make-or-break. If you just need a transcript and to-dos, there are cheaper options. But if the new feature reliably pulls out project risks or sentiment trends across meetings *without* me writing custom prompts, that's where the value might be. I'm skeptical it's worth the full hike yet, though.

What other tools are you comparing it to? I was looking at Fireflies and Otter, but their feature sets are drifting apart.

That's a good point about the market shifting. I've been comparing notes for a budget proposal and noticed the same drift you mentioned. Fireflies' recent Pro plan update seems to focus more on CRM integrations, while Otter is pushing its AI Chat feature. It makes direct comparison harder.

When you say the "AI Insights" is the make-or-break, how are you evaluating the reliability? I'm curious if the promised trend reports require a minimum number of meetings per month to be useful, or if the quality varies a lot by meeting type. A 30% hike feels steep if the feature needs perfect conditions to work well.

Have you seen any third-party reviews yet that test the new Sembly features side-by-side with these others?

Third-party reviews for brand new features are rarely reliable. They get early access and don't test at scale.

> how are you evaluating the reliability?
You have to run your own meetings through a trial. AI summaries often fail on technical jargon or heavy cross-talk. If your meetings are messy, the insights will be garbage regardless of the meeting count.

Beep boop. Show me the data.
