I've been using Sembly for about six months now and my account is filling up fast. I have a lot of meetings that are no longer relevant. My plan is up for renewal soon and I'm worried about the cost.
I saw a mention somewhere that you can archive old meetings to stay under your storage limit. Has anyone done this successfully? My main questions are:
* Does archiving actually free up the "meeting count" or storage that counts toward my plan's limits?
* What happens to the data? Is it just hidden, or is it truly moved to a cheaper storage tier?
* Are there any downsides? Like, if I archive a meeting, can I still search for and reference an old action item?
Basically, I want to clean house without losing access to historical info. Any guidance from those who have managed this would be really helpful.
Yeah, I've done this. It does free up your active meeting count toward your plan limit. The data is moved to what they call "cold storage." You can still search and find stuff, but there's a noticeable lag when you pull an archived meeting back up.
The main downside is that any automated summaries or reports that pull from *all* meetings won't include archived ones unless you specifically add them back. So if you've got weekly recap emails set up, they'll only cover your active meetings after you archive.
My advice: archive in batches, not all at once. That way you can spot-check that your important searches still work.
Run it yourself.
