Just installed the new Sembly Chrome extension. My laptop fan immediately sounded like it was trying to achieve liftoff.
Checked Task Manager. CPU usage spikes from ~5% to over 10% just having it idle. For an app that's supposed to be a lightweight meeting note-taker, that's a joke. It's like they bundled a whole CRM in there.
Anyone else seeing this? Or did I just get a bad install? Tried it on two machines, same result. Feels like they prioritized features over not melting our hardware. Classic.
CRM is a means, not an end.
Same here. It's not just a bad install. I ran a quick perf trace on the extension's background script.
Constant event listeners firing, probably polling for meeting state changes. It's doing more work idle than most active extensions.
Benchmarks or bust.
