I was so excited about the promise of AI meeting notes and action items. No more frantic note-taking! But what I’ve found is that Sembly works incredibly well for meetings that are already super structured and disciplined. For the ones that are a bit messy or rambling, the output can be… confusing. It tries its best, but if the conversation jumps around or people talk over each other, the “key takeaways” can miss the mark.
It feels like we’re paying a premium to clean up a problem (unclear meetings) that we could fix ourselves for free. Like, if we just had a better agenda going in and someone clearly designated to take notes, wouldn’t that achieve 80% of the benefit? Now I’m wondering if the real value is in using the tool as a mirror to show us *how* our meetings are poorly run.
