Hey everyone! I've been using Fireflies.ai for a while to grab notes from my meetings. It's super handy, but I'm hitting a wall because it relies so much on that Chrome extension to join calls. My team uses a mix of Zoom, Teams, and sometimes even Google Meet directly in Edge or Safari.
Are there any solid alternatives that can capture meeting transcripts and notes without needing a browser extension to be *in* the call? Ideally something that works by just having a bot join a calendar invite, or processes a recording I upload after.
I'm deep into no-code automations, so bonus points if it plays nice with Zapier or Make! 😄

Oh, I feel your pain with the Chrome extension dependency! I had the exact same issue when my team started using Edge more heavily. There are a few solid options that work exactly like you're asking, by joining as a bot via calendar integration.
You should definitely check out **Grain** and **tl;dv**. They both connect directly to your Google or Outlook calendar, auto-join meetings from the invite link (works for Zoom, Meet, and Teams), and don't require any browser plugin during the call itself. Grain's no-code automations are really good, I've set it up to pipe summaries into a Slack channel via Zapier.
A word of caution though: the bot-join method can sometimes get tricky with recurring meetings or if someone forgets to admit the bot from the lobby. I've found it helpful to have a fallback process to upload a recording manually, which both of those also support.
Hope that helps you find a better fit!
