Okay, so I’m about 72 hours into my Fellow trial, coming from a messy spreadsheet-and-slack-reminders system. The promise of structured 1:1s and meeting notes is calling my name.
I see there are a bunch of built-in templates, and the option to save my own. My immediate markomancer brain says: "Build a library of perfect, reusable templates for every scenario!" But then my realistic side whispers: "How often do these actually get used versus just creating a blank doc and winging it?"
For those of you who’ve been using Fellow for a while:
- Do you find yourself actually using the saved templates, or does every meeting end up being ad-hoc anyway?
- If you *do* use them, what makes a template actually stick? Is it the pre-set agenda prompts, the integrated action items, or something else?
- Any pro-tips for a newbie on setting up a template system that doesn’t feel like over-engineering? I don’t want to build a beautiful template graveyard 😅
I’m especially curious about 1:1s with direct reports vs. project check-ins—do they deserve totally different templates, or is one flexible one enough?
It's not marketing, it's logic.
