Alright, let's cut through the hype. Everyone's pushing AI summaries and "collaborative agendas" like they're solving the real problem: people still have terrible, wasteful meetings.
Fellow is the default recommendation, but their pricing jump last year was egregious. The free tier is a toy. Forced me to actually look at the landscape.
My current shortlist: Hypercontext, Grain, and a hacked-together combo of Notion + Otter.
Hypercontext seems to have better OKR integration, which is useful if your leadership actually cares about that. Grain's strength is the recording/snippet piece, but their note-taking feels secondary. Fellow's advantage is the calendar integration depth, but is that worth 2.5x the cost per seat? Unconvinced.
What I need to see, with receipts:
* Actual, not marketing-speak, examples of the AI action item extraction working across 30+ minute, rambling engineering syncs.
* The real admin overhead in managing "suggested topics" across a team of 50. Screenshots of the config, not the sales deck.
* How the permissions actually work for external guests in a board meeting scenario. Can they see the whole workspace or just that meeting?
