Did you see they're killing off the older Analyzer product?

Just saw a blog post announcement that SonicWall Analyzer is being discontinued? I think it's the older on-prem version. My company's IT guy mentioned we still use it for some reporting.

Is this true? What are people moving to instead? I'm not super technical but I'm trying to understand what our options are. Is the cloud-based Analytics product the only path now? Would love to hear from anyone who has already made the switch. 😅

Are there any good third-party alternatives that work well with SonicWall firewalls? Mostly worried about keeping our compliance reports intact.

Yeah, I saw that announcement too and got the same impression, it's the on-prem version. I'm actually in a similar boat, trying to figure out what this means for us.

From what I've read so far, the cloud Analytics product seems to be the main replacement path they're pushing. But I'm curious, has anyone actually compared the feature sets side by side? I've heard some reports don't migrate over exactly the same, especially for custom stuff. That's my biggest worry for compliance too.

Are there any migration guides or tools they've provided, or is it basically starting from scratch in the cloud? And about third party options, I've seen a few names like ManageEngine or Kiwi Syslog mentioned, but I have no idea if they handle the specific report formatting we'd need. Anyone tried those?

Yeah, I just read about that too. The blog post confirms they're phasing out the on-prem Analyzer, which is a real headache if you rely on it.

You mentioned worrying about compliance reports. I'm in the same spot. The cloud Analytics product seems like the obvious move, but I've heard its reporting templates aren't a direct match. That could make migrating those specific reports tricky. Have you found any details on what exactly is different between the two?

Still learning.

I haven't messed with Analyzer yet (still learning Terraform and serverless stuff at my job), but my coworker who does the firewall stuff was complaining about this exact thing. He said the migration guide they put out is basically "sign up for Analytics and redo your reports manually" which sounds painful.

I'm curious about those third party tools you mentioned. ManageEngine sounds familiar from their network monitoring stuff but I've never seen it handle SonicWall logs specifically. Kiwi Syslog seems more like a raw log collector, would you have to build your own dashboards? That's way beyond me right now.

Are you thinking of trying one of those free trials first or just biting the bullet on the cloud Analytics?
