Hey everyone! I've been deep in a vendor evaluation rabbit hole for a client and could really use some real-world perspectives. We're looking at SASE/Zero Trust platforms for a mid-market healthcare organization with about 150 users, mostly remote clinics and a small admin office.
The shortlist has come down to Cloudflare One and Cato Networks. On paper, they both promise the secure, seamless access we need for PHI and all the compliance headaches that come with it (HIPAA, obviously). But I'm stuck on the practical, day-to-day differences.
From my testing, Cloudflare One feels incredibly developer-forward and elegant for web traffic. Their Zero Trust dashboard is a joy. Cato, on the other hand, seems built from the ground up with the global network edge in mind—it feels more like a traditional secure network, just modernized.
I'm especially curious about:
- Real-world management overhead for a team without dedicated network security gurus. Which console actually saves time?
- Performance for clinical applications, which can be latency-sensitive. Any horror stories or wins?
- The true cost picture at our scale. Not just licensing, but implementation and ongoing config changes.
