Hi everyone. I’ve been lurking for a bit, trying to get my bearings. I come from a product analytics background, so I’m used to looking at funnels and A/B test results, but this CRM comparison space is a whole different beast.
I see a lot of threads here with detailed feature matrices and scoring rubrics. They're super helpful, but I'm trying to reverse-engineer the *process*. When you all build these comparisons, how do you decide what even goes on the matrix? Is it purely based on a checklist of common CRM features, or do you weight things towards specific workflows?
For example, if I'm comparing two platforms, should I be timing how long it takes to segment a list and run an email campaign in each? Or is it more about the presence/absence of features like lead scoring or native email opens tracking? I'm worried about missing the "gotchas" that only show up in real use.
Also, from an iterative development perspective: how do you account for a platform that's rapidly adding features via flags? Does that change how you score? 🧐
Basically, how do you move from a list of features to a useful, actionable comparison that doesn't just become a checkbox exercise?
