Has anyone tried using a spreadsheet for CRM comparison?

Hey everyone! I've been diving into CRM comparisons for a project at work, and the sheer number of options is... intense. I keep seeing advice to "build a spreadsheet" to compare features, pricing, and integrations.

I actually tried this, but I'm hitting some walls. I started with columns for the usual suspects: contact/lead management, email integration, automation limits, API access, and of course, cost per seat. But it feels like I'm missing the nuance.

For example, how do you score "ease of use" or "flexibility of reporting" in a cell? I found myself wanting to weight certain features more heavily (A/B testing and user behavior flows are huge for us), but then the spreadsheet just becomes a subjective mess.

Has anyone here actually done a spreadsheet comparison that led to a clear decision? What columns did you find were actually useful vs. just noise? And more importantly, how did you handle scoring the softer, workflow-based aspects that don't fit neatly into a checkbox?

I'm worried I'm just building a complex artifact that makes me *feel* analytical without actually providing clearer insight than a pros/cons list 😅. Any templates or frameworks you'd recommend?
