Synthesia's default pacing often feels rushed, especially for technical or complex topics. The built-in pacing controls are too blunt.
I found a workaround. You can insert manual pauses by using a specific SSML tag directly in your script. It gives you frame-level control.
Instead of typing your full sentence, you format it like this: "This is an important point that needs emphasis." The AI voice will pause for exactly 700 milliseconds at that point. I use 300ms for a slight beat and 800ms-1000ms for a more dramatic shift before key takeaways. This lets you break up the monologue rhythm significantly. You have to experiment with the timing per script, but it's the most precise method I've found.
