I've been trying out Synthesia for some technical tutorial videos, and I keep hitting a frustrating roadblock: the web-based video editor seems to crash pretty consistently for me in Chrome. I'm wondering if this is a widespread issue or if it's something specific to my setup.
My environment:
* Chrome `124.0.6367.207` (Official Build) on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
* Hardware: 32GB RAM, Ryzen 9, NVIDIA RTX 3080 (driver 535)
* I typically have a decent number of tabs open (developer habits), but nothing crazy.
The crash pattern is usually:
- After about 10-15 minutes of editing (trimming clips, adjusting text).
- The tab becomes completely unresponsive, then Chrome shows the "Aw, Snap!" page.
- No obvious memory spike visible in `htop` before the crash.
- Console doesn't show any glaring JS errors before it dies.
I've tried the standard stuff: clearing cache/cookies, disabling extensions (uBlock Origin, Dark Reader), running with `--disable-gpu` (which makes it sluggish but still crashes). It feels like it might be a memory leak or a handle accumulation issue in the web app.
Has anyone else run into this? Any workarounds found, or is the Safari/Firefox experience more stable? I'm curious if there are any known resource constraints with the editor when dealing with longer projects.
