Okay, I'm at my wit's end with my current text-to-speech setup. It's clunky, inaccurate with technical terms, and just grinds to a halt with large documents. I'm a technical writer, and I need to proof my own 50+ page manuals and API docs. Hearing it read aloud is the only way I catch certain errors.

I've narrowed my search down to Speechify and NaturalReader. I'm not looking for a simple reader for novels; I need something that can handle dense, jargon-filled PDFs and Word docs. The pricing for both seems similar on the surface, but I'm worried about the migration hassle.

Has anyone here made a similar switch for professional proofing? I'd love to hear some real war stories. Specifically:
- How do they *actually* compare on accuracy with complex technical vocabulary?
- Which one feels less disruptive when you're in a deep workflow? I can't afford constant mispronunciations or crashes.
- Is the data import/export straightforward? I have years of documents in various formats.

I'm leaning towards trying one of them, but I'd rather learn from your mistakes first 😅. Honest comparisons from people who've used both would be a lifesaver.

The grass is greener? We'll see.
