I spend way too many hours in the web player listening to docs and articles. My eyes are fried by the end of the day. The bright white background feels like a deliberate choice to cause eye strain.
Every other productivity tool I use—from my CRM to my project management software—has a dark theme. It's not an aesthetic preference anymore; it's a basic accessibility and comfort feature for prolonged use. My browser has dark mode extensions, but they break the player's UI half the time.
So I'm throwing this out to the community and, hopefully, someone from Speechify:
* Has anyone found a reliable workaround using browser flags or specific extensions?
* Is there any official word on if/when this is coming? I checked their roadmap portal and saw nothing concrete.
I like the product, but this omission feels like a glaring oversight for a tool designed for heavy, daily use. It makes me question if the dev team actually uses their own product for 8-hour stretches.
