Alright, let's talk about the one thing everyone promises but nobody delivers: making onboarding actually *efficient*. We've all been there—thrown into a Confluence black hole of meeting notes and project histories, expected to magically become productive by next week.

Our team started using Read AI for meeting summaries, but the real win came from repurposing those summaries for onboarding. Here's the blunt, no-fluff breakdown:

**The Problem:**
* New hires spent days reading through endless Jira tickets and Confluence pages.
* Key decisions were buried in 60-minute Zoom recordings nobody had time to watch.
* Context on *why* a project took a certain direction was completely lost.

**Our "Aha" Use-Case:**
We created a dedicated "Onboarding" channel in Slack. For any project kickoff, sprint review, or key stakeholder meeting, we:
1. Run the recording through Read AI.
2. Extract the summary and the "key questions answered" section.
3. Post it to the channel with a link to the recording and relevant Confluence/Jira links.
4. New hires get a curated, chronological feed of *context* instead of raw data.

**What Actually Works:**
* The AI-generated "key questions" are surprisingly decent for understanding the *intent* behind decisions.
* We pair each summary with 2-3 must-read links (no more). Stops the information avalanche.
* It exposes the new person to the actual voices and concerns of the team, which a static document never does.

**The Caveats (because nothing's perfect):**
* You have to train the team to keep summaries focused. Garbage in, garbage out.
* The "action items" Read AI picks up are often wrong. We ignore those and rely on our own Jira workflow.
* It's a supplement to human conversation, not a replacement. We still do live Q&A, but now it's informed Q&A.

Bottom line: It shaves about a week off our typical onboarding ramp. The value isn't in the AI being brilliant; it's in forcing us to structure and contextualize our meeting noise into something a human can actually digest.
