Hey everyone! 👋 I've been experimenting with Notion AI to streamline my team's weekly standup process, and I think I've finally cracked the code for automating those sometimes-tedious report summaries. It's saved us at least an hour of manual work each week, and the consistency is fantastic.

Here's the basic workflow I set up:

**1. The Input Setup:**
* Created a dedicated "Standup Notes" database in our team Notion workspace.
* Each team member has a template button to create a new entry with properties like: `Date`, `Person`, `Last Week's Wins`, `This Week's Focus`, `Blockers`.
* Throughout the week, we all just quickly jot notes into our own entries.

**2. The Automation Magic (Using Notion AI & Relations):**
* On Friday, I have a filtered view that shows all entries for that week.
* I select all, open the Notion AI menu, and use a custom prompt like:
* "Summarize the selected 'This Week's Focus' entries into a concise, bulleted list of team priorities for the upcoming week. Group by project where possible."
* I do the same for blockers, asking the AI to highlight any that require immediate attention or cross-team help.
* These AI-generated summaries get popped into a master "Weekly Standup Report" page, which is linked to the notes database via a relation property.

**3. The Output & Benefits:**
* The final report page gives us a clean, executive summary in seconds.
* It has eliminated the "formatting drift" we used to get when everyone wrote summaries differently.
* We can easily reference past weeks by clicking through the linked notes.

The key was combining Notion's database structure with the AI's summarization strength. It's not fully "hands-off," but it turns a 30-minute synthesis task into a 2-minute review. Has anyone else built something similar? I'm curious about different prompt styles or if you've integrated this with other automation tools!

So you're paying per seat for Notion AI on top of your regular plan just to summarize notes your team already wrote? That's not automation, that's an expensive aggregator.

What's the real cost per report when you factor in the AI add-on? Bet it's more than the "saved" hour.

And consistency is only fantastic if you never need to question the AI's grouping or priorities. Good luck when it misinterprets a critical blocker.

Your stack is too complicated.

Interesting setup. I'm curious about the custom prompt you're using for the blockers - do you find it consistently picks up on things that legitimately need attention, or does it sometimes flag minor stuff while missing the real critical path items? I've been debating trying something similar but I'm worried about the AI's judgment on what counts as "immediate attention."

Also, have you had any issues with team members not updating their entries consistently? We're a small team but I can already see a few people forgetting to jot things down until Friday morning, which would kind of defeat the purpose.
