Hey everyone! I've been putting Luma Dream Machine through its paces for some marketing storyboard animations, and I kept hitting this one annoying issue: characters with sliding feet. You know, when the walk cycle looks good but the feet seem to glide or skate on the ground instead of planting properly. Super distracting!
After a bunch of testing, I've found a few prompts and settings that really help lock those feet down.
**Key Prompt Adjustments:**
* Be hyper-specific about the gait. Instead of "a person walking," try "a person with a heavy, deliberate walk, planting each foot firmly."
* Anchor the character to something. "A person walking steadily on a cobblestone street" often works better than "a person walking."
* Use environment cues. Adding details like "feet making light contact with the damp sand" can guide the model toward proper footfall.
**Workflow Tip:**
I got my best results by generating a short clip *first*, then using that as a reference image for a second, longer generation. It seems to help Luma establish a more consistent movement anchor. Also, don't be afraid to use a lower motion score (like 3-4) for more controlled, less "slippery" walking.
Has anyone else found different tricks to solve this? I'm curious if playing with the aspect ratio or seed consistency has helped you all.
