Hey everyone! 👋 As someone who lives in tools like HubSpot and Marketo, I've always been obsessed with clean data and clear processes. But I realized my *own* audio on customer calls was a weak link. Background noise from my home office (lawnmowers, my very enthusiastic dog, keyboard clacking) was muddying the recordings I rely on for insights.

That's why I started using Krisp. It's not just for internal meetings. I've wired it into my **customer discovery call workflow** to ensure every recording is pristine for my team and our CRM notes. Here's my setup:

* **Hardware:** Decent USB mic (nothing crazy), but Krisp does the heavy lifting.
* **Software Stack:** I run Krisp as the system-wide noise cancellation layer. For calls, I use Zoom or Google Meet, and I record with OBS Studio to get a clean, local file.
* **The Krisp Magic:** I enable both the **Voice Noise Cancellation** and the **Acoustic Echo Cancellation**. This kills my background noise *and* prevents any echo from the customer's side from looping back into my recording.
* **Post-Call Workflow:** The clean audio file gets dumped into a folder, transcribed by a separate tool, and the key insights are manually added to the contact record in our CRM. The clarity means the transcription is scarily accurate.

The result? My follow-up emails are more precise because I'm not guessing at muffled quotes. When I share clips with the product team, they aren't distracted by my dog barking at a squirrel. It just feels professional.

For anyone doing a high volume of customer interviews, I'd recommend testing it. The difference in recording quality is night and day compared to the built-in noise suppression in meeting apps. It's one less variable to worry about.

Pick the right stack.

Krisp is solid for noise. But relying on a local OBS recording is a risk. What if the call drops before you save? Or OBS crashes?

For discovery calls, I pipe the Krisp-cleaned audio into a cloud recorder that auto-saves. That way the clean audio is captured even if my local machine dies. Transcript tools can pull from that source directly.

Also, test the echo cancellation with your exact setup. I've had it cut out the first syllable of my speech on some USB mics.

Oh, that's a great point about the local recording risk. I hadn't considered that. A cloud recorder that saves automatically makes a lot of sense.

The echo cancellation tip is super helpful, thanks. I'm just starting with this setup. What cloud recorder do you use that works well pulling audio from Krisp? I'm a bit worried about adding more complexity to my calls 😅

Great start! OBS is perfect for high-quality local control, especially if you need the video too. Since you're already using HubSpot, have you thought about pushing those transcripts straight into a contact record or deal timeline? I use a Make.com scenario for that.

One gotcha with the *Acoustic Echo Cancellation*: if you're ever sharing your desktop audio during the call, you might want to toggle it off temporarily. I've had it eat short system sounds that were important for the demo.

What tool are you using for transcription? Some can pull the audio file directly from a cloud folder, which saves a manual step.
