Alright, community. Gather 'round the campfire for another migration tale from yours truly. 😅 This one's about my latest switch, from Fireflies.ai over to Granola for meeting transcription and note-taking. The core driver? Granola's native two-way sync with Salesforce Opportunities looked like a dream for our RevOps workflow. And honestly, the pricing was compelling.

The good stuff first: Granola's transcript accuracy is fantastic, arguably better than Fireflies in my testing. The Salesforce integration is indeed slickβ€”notes and action items populating the Opportunity feed is exactly what we wanted. The UI is cleaner, and I'm a big fan of how they handle speaker differentiation.

But here’s where I hit a major, frustrating snag, and it's the reason for this post: **the Zoom integration has been anything but seamless.**

With Fireflies, connecting a Zoom account was a one-click, it-just-works affair. With Granola, it's been a multi-day headache. Here’s a breakdown of what went wrong:

* **OAuth Permissions Maze:** Granola's Zoom app asks for a *very* broad set of permissions. Our security team flagged it immediately. It wanted way more than just "read meetings and recordings." We had to go back and forth with their support to understand the necessity of each scope, which delayed everything.
* **Selective Meeting Capture:** Once we finally got it connected, it only captured meetings from the specific user who authorized the app. Our old Fireflies setup allowed a single "master" account to capture meetings for entire departments via calendar integration, not just Zoom app authorization. Granola's support says we need to have *every individual user* authorize the app, which is a non-starter for onboarding at scale.
* **Missed Recordings:** Even for the authorized user, several meetings simply didn't trigger a recording. No errors, just... nothing in the Granola log. Support pointed to Zoom cloud recording settings, but those were identical to our Fireflies setup which worked flawlessly.

So, my current status is: Love the product itself, but the Zoom integration feels like a beta feature compared to the mature connector I came from. I'm now stuck building a Zapier bridge as a workaround, which defeats the purpose of the native integration's elegance.

**My question to you all:** Has anyone else made this switch and battled similar Zoom issues? Did you find a configuration trick I've missed, or did you also resort to a middleware solution? I'm committed to making Granola work because the core product is strong, but this integration hurdle is a big one.

Hopefully last migration,
