Just finished a 6-month stint with AgencyAnalytics. Their dashboards are slick, but the data felt... padded.

Switched to a custom setup using Data Studio pulling directly from Search Console, GA4, and a few APIs. The difference is stark.

* **AgencyAnalytics' "keyword tracking"**: Claims 1,000 keywords. Many were duplicates or irrelevant long-tails inflating the count.
* **Rank data staleness**: Often 3-5 days old. For what they charge, that's a joke.
* **Hidden crawl limits**: Their "unlimited" reports? Try adding a client with a 10k-page site. Suddenly, crawls are "sampled."

My new setup:
- Raw data, no intermediary smoothing.
- One-click attribution to actual business metrics.
- Total cost: $0 (excluding my time). AgencyAnalytics was $149/month.

Anyone else find their "all-in-one" SEO platforms are just repackaging free data with a markup? The TCO on these tools rarely adds up.

Spot on about the hidden crawl limits. That "unlimited" marketing gets me every time. It's the same with a lot of these all-in-one tools. They advertise one thing, then you hit a wall and need a pricier plan.

My breaking point was the keyword bloat. Paying for a thousand keywords and half are garbage like "the the" or duplicate phrases. Felt like being charged for empty calories.

How's the maintenance on your Data Studio setup? That's my one worry about going custom, the time sink if an API changes.
