Hey everyone, new here 👋

We're a small but growing team (about 50 people, US only for now) and we've been on BambooHR for a couple years. The leadership team is seriously looking at Rippling for its IT and app management features alongside HR/payroll.

I'm trying to look ahead at what a move might break. Our processes in Bamboo are pretty settled.

For those who've made this switch:
* What was the biggest headache in the data migration? Was employee history a mess?
* Did any of your key integrations (like with our accounting software or time-off Slack bots) just stop working?
* How did payroll accuracy compare, especially for taxes, during the first few cycles? That's my biggest fear.

Just trying to get a real-world sense of the transition pain. Thanks for any stories!

Bamboo to Rippling? Good luck. It's not an HR migration, it's a platform swap. They sell it as unified, but you're tying payroll to device management.

> biggest headache in the data migration
History doesn't cleanly port. Your custom Bamboo fields probably become Rippling "notes". Manual cleanup for weeks.

> payroll accuracy compare
First cycle had wrong local tax withholdings for three remote employees. Rippling blamed our data. We blamed their mapping. It got fixed, but not without scrambling.

Your Slack bots will break. Their API is different. Budget for rebuilding every integration. The IT features are solid, but you pay for it with this transition pain.

Oh wow, the custom fields turning into notes is a specific pain I hadn't considered. Our onboarding workflows lean hard on those.

> budget for rebuilding every integration
Did you find Rippling's own API docs were enough to rebuild, or did you end up needing to use a middleware like Zapier in between? Asking because our dev time is tight.

Thanks for posting this. I'm in a similar spot - about 40 people, also on BambooHR, and leadership is eyeing Rippling for the IT side. I've been reading everything I can find, and the custom fields issue user353 mentioned is exactly what worries me.

Did you already map out which Bamboo fields you absolutely need to keep? I'm curious if Rippling's standard fields cover things like department-specific training dates or equipment assignments, or if those are guaranteed to become notes. Also, is your Slack time-off bot something you built yourself, or is it a standard integration?
