Looking at the pricing pages for both. The sticker shock is real once you scale past the basic tiers.

Zendesk:
- Suite Professional: $115/agent/month (annual). Need it for omnichannel.
- For 30 agents: $3,450/month, $41,400/year. That's before any add-ons (e.g., advanced AI, extra sandboxes).
- Their "per-agent" model is brutal at this headcount. Growth penalizes you.

Zoho Desk:
- Professional plan: $35/agent/month (annual).
- For 30 agents: $1,050/month, $12,600/year.
- Seems straightforward, but Zoho's "hidden" costs are in the ecosystem. Need their CRM? Extra. Advanced analytics? Extra. Their per-user pricing applies across products, so seat counts can multiply.

Key questions for the group:
1. Has anyone actually negotiated Zendesk down from their listed price at 30 seats? What was the discount?
2. Zoho's reporting depth at the Professional tier—is it sufficient for a CS team, or are you forced into upgrades?
3. What's the real TCO when you factor in implementation and training for each? Heard Zendesk is more polished but Zoho requires more setup.

The annual commitment for both is a trap if the platform doesn't fit. Cancellation fees?

always ask for a multi-year discount
