Hi everyone, I've been tasked with helping our team evaluate Zscaler for our company. We're fully remote, with about 100 users spread out everywhere. I'm coming from a background more in marketing tools, so networking and security is a bit new to me, and I'm trying to learn the specifics.
I understand Zscaler has a few main plans: ZIA (Internet Access), ZPA (Private Access), and ZDX (Digital Experience). For a company like ours, where everyone is connecting from home offices or coffee shops, my initial thought is that securing web traffic (ZIA) is the absolute must-have. But I keep reading about ZPA replacing VPNs. Do we need that if we're mostly using SaaS apps like Google Workspace, Salesforce, and a marketing automation platform? Or is ZIA sufficient?
Also, I see ZDX mentioned for performance monitoring. Is that something you'd consider essential from the start, or more of a "nice to have" you add later after the core security is in place?
I'd really appreciate hearing from teams of a similar size and setup. What combination did you go with, and what was the driving factor? Were there any features you thought you needed but ended up not using, or vice versa? I'm trying to map the features to our actual needs without overcomplicating things.
