Hey folks! 👋 Been lurking here for a bit, but this one's been on my mind. My team's been fully remote and spread across four continents for about two years now. We started with a basic VPN setup, but managing access and security policies per region has become a real headache.
I've been digging into Zscaler's docs for ZIA (Internet Access) and ZPA (Private Access). The promise of a cloud-native, zero-trust model for a distributed team sounds perfect on paper. But I'm curious about the real-world integration depth, especially for a team that's 100% in the cloud with SaaS tools.
Has anyone actually rolled this out for a similar setup? I'm particularly wondering about:
* **Onboarding & Device Management:** How smooth is the client deployment for non-corporate devices? We're a mix of company-issued and BYOD.
* **Performance Hit:** Did you notice any latency issues for teams in, say, APAC or South America when routing all traffic through the nearest ZEN?
* **App-Specific Policies:** How granular can you get? For example, allowing Slack but blocking certain file uploads to personal Dropbox.
* **The Admin Experience:** Is the policy management truly as centralized as they claim? How's the learning curve for setting up granular app controls versus network-based rules?
The API looks robust for automation, which is a huge plus for us. But I've been burned by vague "seamless integration" claims before. 😅 Any hands-on experiences or pitfalls to share would be awesome!
