Alright, I've been living with Wiz for about 8 months now, and I have to get this off my chest. My initial excitement has seriously cooled. Here's my experience:
The first three months were fantastic. We onboarded our dev and cloud teams, and the sheer volume of "oh wow" findings was incredible. We fixed:
* Exposed S3 buckets we didn't know about
* Over-permissive service accounts
* VMs with no disk encryption
It felt like we were winning every day, and the ROI was obvious. The dashboards were lighting up with resolved issues.
But around month four, the momentum just... died. The critical, easy wins dried up. Now, my feed is dominated by:
* Repeated, noisy alerts for "vulnerabilities" in ephemeral dev containers that spin down in hours.
* Compliance findings that are "failures" due to our deliberate, approved architectural choices.
* Low-severity items that require complex, cross-team coordination for minimal security gain.
The effort to action these remaining findings is now huge, while the value feels minimal. We're spending more time tuning out noise than fixing real problems.
I'm starting to think Wiz is an incredible *implementation* and *initial audit* tool, but not a great long-term *operations* platform for a mature cloud environment. The value proposition seems to peak early.
Has anyone else hit this wall? What did you do? Did you change your tuning drastically, or did you supplement with other tools for the day-to-day operational grind?
