Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to all this enterprise-grade cloud security stuff, so maybe I'm missing something obvious here. I've been trying to get my team to adopt Wiz for our cloud workloads, and the tech seems amazing from what I've read.
But here's my thing: we have a bunch of legacy systems and some very specific compliance needs that mean we *have* to keep certain things fully on-premises. Not just a private cloud, but like, in our own data center. I was super excited about Wiz's approach, but then I hit a wall trying to figure out how to run the whole thing ourselves.
It seems like it's really built as a SaaS-first platform. I get that's where the industry is going, but... am I the only one who wishes there was a proper, self-hosted, on-prem deployment option? Like, a version we could install on our own hardware, with all the scanning and analysis running inside our network boundary?
We use tools like Notion and Slack that have great cloud offerings, but they also have options for teams with stricter requirements. I guess I was hoping for something similar here. The idea of sending all our config data to the cloud, even for a product this good, is a non-starter for our security team on some projects.
Is this just the reality of modern cloud security tools? Has anyone else run into this and found a workaround, or are we stuck looking at different vendors for those specific parts of our infrastructure? Curious to hear from more experienced folks!
Thx!
