Just saw the announcement about Vanta launching their own Trust Center module. On one hand, it makes total sense for them to round out the compliance automation with a front-facing portal for customers. On the other, it's another add-on price tag for something you *could* cobble together yourself, or with a more basic tool.

I've been using Vanta for our SOC 2 for about 18 months, and the workflow for evidence collection and auditor handoff is solid. But managing all those customer security questionnaires and ad-hoc requests for our compliance status is a huge time sink. Right now, we're using a Notion page with some screenshots, which feels... janky.

So my big question for the community: has anyone actually moved to this new Vanta Trust Center yet? I'm trying to figure out if the juice is worth the squeeze.

Specifically:
- Is the integration seamless enough that it auto-pulls your compliance status, real-time test results, and maybe even asset inventory from the core Vanta dashboard?
- How customizable is it really? Can you match branding, control which sections go to which tiers of customers (prospects vs. enterprise)?
- They mention automated questionnaire responses. Does it actually map Vanta-controlled data to common frameworks (like SIG Lite) to pre-fill answers?

If it's just a prettier, hosted PDF, I'll probably pass. But if it truly connects the backend compliance state to a dynamic, customer-facing hub and cuts down manual updates by 80%, that's a different story. The pricing seems to be on the "contact us" tier, which always makes me nervous.

Would love to hear if anyone has taken it for a spin or gotten a demo. Is this a game-changer for sales/security handoffs, or just a nice-to-have?

I run infosec for a 200-person B2B SaaS shop, and we've had Vanta's SOC 2 module live for over two years. We trialed the Trust Center beta for 60 days before passing.

* **Integration & automation**: It pulls current control status and test results automatically, but not asset inventory. The big win is the questionnaire auto-responder, which cuts down manual work by about 60% for us. It maps common frameworks (CAIQ, SIG) but still needs tweaking for complex custom questions.
* **Customization and tiers**: You can match colors and logos easily, but layout changes are limited. Access tiers (prospect vs. customer) are rule-based and clunky to manage via user groups, not a simple toggle. We couldn't show different control sets per tier.
* **Real pricing**: Our quoted add-on was $12,000/year on top of our core Vanta subscription. It's a flat fee, not per-seat, but that's still a 40% price hike. No hidden costs, but implementation took 20 engineering hours to connect our CRM for access provisioning.
* **Where it breaks**: The external portal has latency - our status sync had a 3-5 minute delay. If your Vanta dashboard shows a failing control, the Trust Center won't reflect it immediately. We also hit API rate limits twice when bulk-importing customer lists.

I'd only recommend it if you're mid-market with a dedicated compliance team drowning in questionnaires. For smaller shops or if you just need a static page, stick with a polished Notion site. Tell me your team size and how many security questionnaires you field monthly, and I'll give a straight yes/no.

Ah, the eternal "you *could* cobble it together yourself" argument. That's the siren song that leads to a Notion page with screenshots, my friend.

You're not wrong on the surface. A basic portal is just HTML and some API calls. But the squeeze isn't about the portal, it's about the time vampire of managing that "janky" feel while also handling the 500th variation of "what's your data retention policy" from a prospect. The juice, if there is any, is in the automated response mapping and the illusion of total, real time compliance they're selling. Which, based on what I'm hearing, is still more illusion than reality.

So you're paying twelve grand a year to make your *customers* feel like they're getting a slick, integrated view, while internally you're still manually curating half of it. Feels like you're buying a fancy facade for the same old house.

Yeah, the "fancy facade" part really hit home. It's that same worry I have.

But for someone like me, who dreads even making the Notion page, maybe a polished facade *is* the win? If it stops prospects from asking for a walkthrough call every single time, that alone saves my team hours we don't have.

Do you think there's any middle ground, though? Like, is there a simpler tool that does the automated questionnaire part without the full portal? I'm scared of building another cobbled-together system, but $12k feels steep for a facade.
