Comparison: EDR only vs. full XDR suite - is the premium justified?

We're evaluating security platforms and Trend Micro Vision One is on our shortlist. Our current stack is fairly basic (firewall, AV). We're sold on needing EDR, but the jump to the full XDR suite is a significant cost increase.

For those using it, in practical terms, is the premium for the full XDR suite justified over just their EDR? I'm specifically interested in how much value the added integrations (like for our SaaS apps and email) and the centralized workbench actually bring to daily operations versus just having the endpoint visibility and response. Are the automated workflows and broader telemetry a game-changer for a mid-sized team, or is it mostly a nice-to-have?
