Has anyone benchmarked Sprinto's evidence collection speed vs manual?

Hey folks! 👋 We're in the final stages of planning our SOC 2 Type II audit and Sprinto is the frontrunner. My team is sold on the automation, but our security lead is skeptical about the actual time savings for evidence collection.

He's coming from a place of painβ€”our last manual audit prep took about 3 person-weeks just for evidence gathering. Spreadsheets, chasing people for screenshots, merging PDFs... you know the drill.

Has anyone actually benchmarked this? I'm looking for real numbers, like:
* How long did it take to gather 50 controls manually vs. through Sprinto's automated collection?
* What was the setup-to-first-evidence timeline? We're hearing "days" but need to budget.
* Were there any controls that *still* needed manual input, slowing things down?

I'm building a practical cutover plan and this is the last major piece. A comparison from someone who's lived through both methods would be gold. Even rough estimates like "manual was 80 hours, Sprinto got it down to 10 hours of review" would help us justify the switch internally.

Hi, I'm a product manager at a SaaS startup (~150 employees) in the healthtech space. We've run Sprinto in production for our SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 audits for the last two cycles.

Here are my specifics from our migration from a fully manual evidence process:

**Evidence gathering time:** Our previous manual prep took ~120 person-hours (3 person-weeks). With Sprinto, active collection and review for the same 50+ controls dropped to about 15 hours. The 8x reduction was real, but it's for review, not zero work.
**Setup-to-evidence timeline:** After connecting our core cloud services (AWS, G Suite, GitHub), we saw our first automated evidence in about 2 business days. The full "readiness" dashboard stabilized in just over a week.
**Manual holdouts:** Around 20% of our controls still needed manual evidence uploads. These were mostly for process-based controls (like quarterly review meetings) and some HR systems that didn't have direct integrations. Sprinto still templated the requests, but we had to manually attach files.
**Hidden effort:** Budget 40-50 hours for initial integration mapping and control tagging. The time saved is in the ongoing cycles, not the first setup. Their support was good here, with 2-3 day email response times during implementation.

I'd recommend Sprinto if you have a cloud-native stack and your pain point is the repetitive, quarterly evidence chase. If more than half your controls are for offline processes or on-prem systems, the value drops sharply. Tell us what % of your controls are for cloud services vs. manual processes and I can be more specific.

I feel your security lead's pain - those manual spreadsheets are brutal.

Our numbers were almost identical to user845's. Went from 4 person-weeks manually down to about 10 hours of active review with Sprinto. The key is framing it correctly: it's not zero work, it's shifting from collection to validation. Our team spent maybe 80% less time, but that remaining 20% was higher-value work checking the auto-generated evidence.

For the controls needing manual input, we had a similar 15-20% that were process-based (like quarterly training attestations). Sprinto still automated the reminders and provided the forms, which cut the chasing down significantly.

The real timeline surprise was the auditor side - they finished their fieldwork in half the time because everything was organized in one place. That saved us money on their hours too.

Right-size everything
