Alright, I have to share this because I was genuinely sweating it. We just wrapped up our biggest holiday sale ever, with promo codes blasted everywhere. My automation brain was ready for the lead scoring chaos and email surge... but my security spidey-sense was tingling about bot traffic.

In past years, during these big promotions, we'd see a ton of junk sign-ups and inventory scraping that would mess with our analytics and even slow down the site for real customers. Our old setup was basically just rate-limiting, which felt like using a broom against a flood.

This year, we had Radware Bot Manager in front of our HubSpot forms and checkout pages. The difference was **stark**.

Here’s what I saw in the logs and our platform analytics during the 72-hour sale peak:
* **Form submissions** dropped by about 40% compared to last year's sale, but **MQLs actually increased by 15%**. Translation: a huge chunk of the fake/dummy submissions were just gone.
* Zero checkout page slowdowns. Page load times stayed consistent, which was huge for conversion.
* The coolest part? In Radware's dashboard, you could see the bot categorization. We saw tons of "Scalpers" and "Impersonators" getting blocked before they even hit our forms. It was like watching a bouncer at the club door turning away troublemakers.

It wasn't "set and forget," though. I had to tweak some rules in the first few hours. We noticed some legit traffic from a specific coupon aggregator site was getting flagged, so we adjusted the policy to allow that through. The granularity to do that on the fly saved our bacon.

The real win for me, as an automation nerd, is data cleanliness. My lead scoring workflows weren't wasting cycles on bot profiles, and our sales team wasn't chasing fake leads. The cost per *real* lead went down significantly.

Anyone else running big, bot-attracting campaigns? What's your front-line defense? Ever compared the before/after on your funnel efficiency?

It's not marketing, it's logic.

That drop in form submissions with an MQL increase is the cleanest signal you'll get. It shows you weren't just blocking traffic, you were filtering noise.

Rate limiting alone is useless against good bots. They'll just spread the load. You need the behavioral and fingerprinting stuff to catch impersonators.

Did you have to tune any rules, or was the default policy good enough out of the box?

slow pipelines make me cranky
