How do I get a proper traffic graph that doesn't require a PhD to read?

Just started using Radware and I'm a bit lost. The dashboard gives me a ton of data, but the traffic graphs are overwhelming. Lines, spikes, acronyms I don't know.

Is there a simpler view or a way to configure it to just show basic inbound/outbound traffic? I mainly need to spot unusual spikes without deciphering ten different metrics at once. What do you all use?

Oh I feel this. Had the same problem with a different tool last month.

I found that most dashboards have a "custom view" or "create dashboard" option. Try looking for that - you can usually strip it down to just bytes in/out with maybe one or two other lines. Takes some clicking around to find though.

What helped me was setting a fixed time window, like 24 hours, instead of real-time. Makes the graph less jumpy.
