The issue is with file transfers. When I connect to our company server through the encrypted tunnel and try to upload or download larger files (like design assets or video clips), the speed drops significantly. It feels much slower than when I'm just browsing or using our CRM. It's not a dealbreaker, but it does slow down our workflow.
I'm wondering if this is a common thing with all VPNs, or if there might be a setting in Perimeter 81 I'm missing? Could it be related to the specific gateway location I'm connected to? Our team is spread out, so some of us are far from our "home" network.

Yes, the gateway location can make a big difference. Try connecting to one physically closer to the server you're accessing for files. The extra hops for encryption and routing hit large transfers hardest.
You could also check if your Perimeter 81 client has a setting for the protocol, like switching between IKEv2 and OpenVPN. Sometimes one performs better for throughput.
