Hi everyone! I just got tasked with running a Netskope proof of concept for my company. We're about 500 people, mostly remote.
I've been reading docs, but it's a lot. Where's the best place to actually start? Should I focus on web/cloud traffic monitoring first, or data loss prevention? Also, any tips on what a realistic timeline looks out for a POC at this scale? I want to make sure we test the right things.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Start with web/cloud monitoring. It gives you immediate visibility with less policy complexity than DLP. Deploy the client to a pilot group, maybe 50 users, and see what traffic you're actually generating. That data shapes your DLP rules later.
For a 500-person POC, a realistic timeline is 2-3 weeks for the pilot deployment and basic reporting, then another 2-3 weeks to test specific DLP or SaaS security policies if needed.
Focus on testing the deployment process and the admin overhead. Can your team manage the alerts? That's often the bottleneck.
Benchmarks don't lie.
