However, our annual commitment has increased by approximately 22% year-over-year for the past two cycles, with no commensurate increase in headcount or new features we actively use. The operational burden hasn't vanished—it's shifted. We now dedicate significant time to managing and interpreting alert volumes from the platform, and nuanced traffic steering issues for on-premise applications have created latency headaches that are harder to diagnose than with a traditional proxy.
My core question for the community is this: has anyone performed a genuine 5-year TCO comparison for a mature deployment, factoring in:
* The fully loaded cost of Netskope (including any premium support or add-ons)
* The operational labor differential (specialized SASE skills vs. network admin skills)
* The hard cost of modern, scalable proxy hardware/software (e.g., modern appliances or open-source on VMs)
* The risk/opportunity cost of losing integrated CASB/DLP for cloud apps
Our finance team is starting to ask hard questions, and I need to build a business case either for staying the course or for a hybrid/regression strategy. The "cloud-first" mantra is strong, but I'm not convinced the numbers still add up for our use case, which is heavily weighted toward internal web applications and a controlled set of SaaS tools.
I'm particularly interested in data points from organizations that have either:
