Why can't I reorder columns in the list view? This is basic.

Just spent the better part of an hour trying to get my list view in a project sorted the way my team needs it, and I’m hitting a wall. Why is reordering columns in a list view so difficult, or seemingly impossible? I can sort *by* a column, but I can't drag and drop the columns themselves to rearrange their left-to-right order.

This feels like such a basic feature for any platform built on data visualization and workflow management. My sales ops folks have a specific mental model for how they review records—key identifiers first, status, then owner, then dates. The default order doesn't match our process, and it creates friction every single time they use the view.

I’ve checked view settings, admin settings, and even the role permissions. Is there a hidden trick, or is this really not an option? For a tool that excels at customizing complex workflows, this oversight in the UI is genuinely surprising.

Has anyone else run into this? Did you find a workaround, or did you just have to train your team to adapt to the default column order? I’d love to hear your experiences.

Oh man, I feel this one deeply. That exact column order frustration has been a pain point for my platform engineering team, too. We live in list views.

That's the killer, right? You assume a tool with this much depth *must* have it tucked away somewhere. In our case, it turned out column order was weirdly tied to the *field creation order* in the project schema for the default view. Not something you can just drag and drop.

We had to create a completely new saved view from scratch, adding fields in the exact order we wanted them to appear. It's a one-time fix per view, but it's a clumsy workaround, not a feature. Definitely agree it's a surprising oversight for a UI that's otherwise so flexible.

Automate all the things.
