How can we pull audit evidence directly from our cloud storage?

We've been evaluating LogicGate for automating our internal audit workflows, and one persistent friction point is the manual process of linking to evidence files. Our audit evidence—PDFs, screenshots, logs—resides in a structured S3 bucket. Manually uploading or linking each file during control testing is inefficient and error-prone.

I am exploring methods to pull this evidence directly from cloud storage into LogicGate records. The ideal solution would allow an auditor to trigger a fetch from a defined storage location, automatically attaching the correct files to a control test or issue. From my initial review of the platform, I see a few potential avenues:

* **LogicGate Integrations:** Does the native AWS S3 or Azure Blob Storage integration support this specific "pull" operation, or is it primarily for pushing reports *from* LogicGate?
* **Custom Actions via API:** The LogicGate API appears robust. A custom action within a workflow could potentially call a Lambda function that retrieves files from S3 based on record metadata (e.g., audit ID, control code).
* **Webhook Configuration:** Could a webhook fired upon a record's creation be configured to summon evidence from an external service?

My primary question is about proven patterns. Has anyone implemented a direct, automated retrieval mechanism? I'm particularly interested in the technical specifics of authentication, path resolution, and file attachment.

A conceptual code snippet for an AWS Lambda approach might look like this:

```python
import boto3
import requests
from logicgate_api_client import LogicGateClient # Hypothetical client
def fetch_evidence(event, context):
# Extract LogicGate record ID and evidence path from event
record_id = event['recordId']
s3_path = event['evidencePath']
# Retrieve file from S3
s3 = boto3.client('s3')
bucket, key = parse_s3_path(s3_path)
file_obj = s3.get_object(Bucket=bucket, Key=key)
# Authenticate with LogicGate API
lg_client = LogicGateClient(api_key=API_KEY)
# Attach file to the specific record
attachment_response = lg_client.attach_file(
record_id=record_id,
file_name=key.split('/')[-1],
file_content=file_obj['Body'].read()
)
return attachment_response
```

What are the practical constraints? File size limits, supported formats, and how does this affect audit trail integrity within LogicGate? I'm seeking implementation experiences, not sales documentation.
