ELI5: How does Hyperproof's 'shared responsibility' model work?

I've seen Hyperproof mentioned a lot for compliance, but I'm still unclear on one core thing.

In a traditional tool, you might assign a control to one person. How does their "shared responsibility" model actually work day-to-day? For example, if a control like "review user access quarterly" is in Hyperproof, who gets the task? The system owner, the security team lead, or both? And how does evidence collection work under that model?
