Hot take: The reporting is surface-level. You need to export everything to get real insight.

Okay, I've been working with FortiSASE for about six months now, primarily for securing our remote and branch office users. While the core SD-WAN and security functions are solid, I've hit a consistent snag when it comes to reporting.

My main issue is that the built-in dashboards feel like they only show me the "what," not the "why." For example, I can see a spike in blocked threats or high latency, but drilling down to understand the specific application, user, or destination causing it often requires an export. It's like getting a summary page without the ability to easily flip to the chapter.

Here’s what I find myself doing constantly to get actionable insights:
* Exporting web filtering reports to Excel just to pivot by user department and see if a certain team needs more training.
* Pulling application usage data to manually correlate it with network performance events.
* Trying to stitch together user experience metrics with security events to get a full picture of an incident.

This feels counterintuitive for a platform built on integration. I wish the dashboards were more customizable or allowed for built-in cross-tabulation of data. I'm wondering if others have found a workflow or a third-party tool (like a BI connector) that makes this smoother.

Has anyone built a better system for this, or are we all living in CSV exports? I'd love to compare notes and maybe put together a shared checklist for what data to pull for common review scenarios.
