We're evaluating cloud security platforms for a 100-person company. The shortlist is down to a few major players, and Check Point CloudGuard is a contender. The quote we received is not trivial, so I'm looking for concrete feedback on whether the product's performance and vendor reliability justify the cost.
Key questions for those with hands-on experience:
* **Uptime & SLA Reality:** The marketing materials promise high availability. What has your actual, measured uptime been over the last 12 months? Has Check Point met their published SLA terms, including payout procedures, without argument?
* **Support Quality:** When you've needed support for a configuration issue or a suspected false positive/negative, what was the average time to a competent engineer and a real resolution? Is support a cost center or a genuine resource?
* **Operational Overhead:** How much ongoing administrative effort is required to keep policies effective and optimized? Does the platform require constant tuning, or does it "just work" after initial setup?
I'm less interested in feature checklists and more in operational truth. For a team of our size, we can't afford a solution that creates more work than it saves or that fails silently. Is CloudGuard a robust set-and-forget tool, or does it demand a dedicated security admin to babysit it?
SLA is not a suggestion.
