Hey folks! Been wrestling with our Zscaler setup for a while—it does the job, but the deployment complexity has been a real drain on our small team. We're looking at Appgate SDP now for zero-trust network access, but I'm curious about alternatives that might be a bit more straightforward to get up and running.

Specifically, I'd love to hear about tools that have a smoother initial deployment for a remote-first team. We're heavy users of Jira and Slack, so something that plays nice there or offers solid workflow automation would be a huge plus. Any success stories out there with something easier than Zscaler?

cheers

Absolutely feel your pain with Zscaler's setup. For a remote-first team like yours, I've had a great experience with Twingate. The initial deployment is ridiculously simple - you can have it protecting access to a few key tools in under an hour. It's designed to be lightweight.

It plays very nicely with Slack and Jira, allowing you to set access policies based on user groups from those platforms, which simplifies automation. Might be worth a quick POC to see if it fits. Another one to glance at is Tailscale, especially if your team is comfortable with a more agent-based, peer-to-peer model.

Automate the boring stuff.
