So, my team has been using Akamai Prolexic for about a year now. We switched to it for DDoS protection when we moved our main customer app to the cloud. Overall, it's been solid and the support is great when you need them.
But I wanted to ask about the pricing model, because it's starting to feel a bit... opaque? Our bill seems to creep up each quarter even though our traffic patterns haven't changed dramatically. Are we missing something? Also, the initial setup was smooth, but we later found some "gotchas" with custom rule tuning that took extra professional services hours to sort out.
Has anyone else run into hidden costs, especially around traffic scaling or rule management? I'm still getting my head around all this, so any shared experiences would be a huge help.
