Hey everyone! I've been tasked with setting up 1Password Business for our ~25 person marketing team. We're migrating from... well, a not-so-secure shared spreadsheet situation (😬).
I'm comfortable with the basics of vaults and items, but I'm hitting a wall with structuring access *for teams*. Our needs seem straightforward:
* The content team needs access to social media logins, but not ad platform budgets.
* The paid ads specialists need the ad accounts and payment cards, but shouldn't see our PR contacts list.
* Our marketing ops people (like me) need to see everything for tool management.
The admin console has a lot of optionsβTeams, Groups, Vaults, Roles. I'm trying to avoid creating a vault for every single tool, which feels like overkill.
**My main questions:**
* What's the most scalable starting point? Do you build the structure around **Vaults** (like "Social Media Vault," "Ad Accounts Vault") and then assign Groups to them? Or do you define **Roles** first?
* How granular do you get with Groups vs. just sharing individual vaults with people? We have some overlap (e.g., a designer who needs Canva *and* social logins).
* Any pitfalls you ran into when setting this up? I'm especially worried about the "Everyone" vault and onboarding new hiresβdon't want them to see everything by default.
I'd love to see a simple example of how you mapped your company's structure into 1Password. A workflow breakdown would be incredibly helpful!
Thanks in advance. This community has been a goldmine for martech ops.
