Everyone's rushing to buy an "AI agent runtime" like it's a box of magic beans. You're not buying a SaaS app. You're buying a black box that will burn cash and leak data if you're not careful.
First, ignore the feature list. Scour the contract for these traps:
* **Vendor lock-in via proprietary prompts/vector formats.** If you can't export your "trained" agent logic in a usable form, you're renting intelligence, not owning it.
* **Opaque overage pricing on "compute units."** They'll define a "unit" however they want. Your bill will 10x the second you go to production.
* **Data ownership clauses that grant them broad training rights.** Your proprietary prompts and customer interactions become their model fuel.
* **Non-existent SLAs for correctness.** They'll guarantee uptime, not that the agent won't hallucinate your customers into a competitor's arms.
