Am I the only one who makes them define every capitalized term in the definitions section?

Just starting to review contracts more closely in my new role. Our lawyers are great, but I've found that the definitions section can be a total minefield.

I've gotten into the habit of asking vendors to explicitly define every capitalized term they use, even the ones they think are "standard." Things like "Service," "User," "Customer Data," or "Effective Date" seem simple, but I've seen them stretched in weird ways later. Is this overkill? I feel like it's saved us from a few ambiguous clauses already. Curious if others do this, especially in SaaS agreements.
