Hot take: most 'workflow recipes' posted here are just vendor documentation

Okay, I've been lurking here for a few weeks trying to piece together a workflow for our tiny marketing team (three of us!). We're finally getting a budget for some proper tools. I was so excited when I found this subforum—I thought, "Perfect! Real people showing how they actually *use* these tools together."

But I'm starting to feel a bit... let down? Maybe it's just me being new to all this.

A lot of the "recipes" I'm reading feel like they've just been lifted from a software company's "how to integrate with X" page. It's like, "Step 1: Export your CSV from Tool A. Step 2: Use the Zapier zap we link to. Step 3: Import into Tool B." There's no real *insight*.

Where are the parts about what *actually* goes wrong? Or how you tweak things when the automation breaks? Or how you get your team to actually follow the new process? Or the real cost in time, not just the subscription fees?

For example, I see workflows for "blog post from brief to publish" that list five different fancy tools. But they don't mention who writes the brief, how many rounds of edits it really takes with a human team, or what you do when the AI writer gives you something totally off-brand. That's the stuff I need to know!

Am I missing something? Is there a secret to finding the truly useful posts here? I'm genuinely looking for honest comparisons and real-world hiccups, not just a rephrased sales pitch.

Small team, big decisions
