Hi everyone! I've been reading a lot about CDPs like Segment, mParticle, and Lytics, and I keep seeing "real-time activation" as a big selling point. My team is looking at switching from our basic event tracking setup to a proper CDP, mostly to power personalized banners and email triggers faster.
My question is pretty practical: once you've set up a CDP, how do you actually *measure* how fast it works from end to end? Like, from a user clicking something on our site to that action being usable in a Facebook Custom Audience or a Google Ads customer match upload. Is it just about checking the CDP's dashboard for "delivery time," or is there a way to track the whole chain yourself?
I'm used to testing things in Asana or Notion where I can see a clear timestamp, but this feels more complex. I'm worried we'll choose a platform based on feature lists but then find out there's a hidden delay that messes up our campaigns. Do people run some kind of dummy test campaign and log the exact times at each step? Any tips on how to set that up without messing with real customer data would be super helpful!
Thx!
